Pioneer of the Civil Rights Movement passes away
MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Lillie Mae Bradford, a Pioneer of the Civil Rights Movement, has passed away. Bradford was 88 years old when she died on March 14.
She was one of the first to refuse to go to the back of the bus in 1950s in Montgomery and was arrested for her efforts.
Her funeral is scheduled for Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Phillips-Riley Funeral Home.
