MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery police say they are investigating a homicide after the body of a missing man was found Thursday.

Capt. Regina Duckett says the body of Kordarrius Young, 25, was found in the 800 block of Southlawn Drive. Officers discovered Young's body while searching an area nearby Greensboro Drive, where Young's vehicle had been found.

Initially, Young's cause of death was unknown but a forensic evaluation determined it to be a homicide, Duckett says.

Young was reported missing on Wednesday, March 30. Officials say he was last seen at the Wind Creek Hotel in Wetumpka on March 21 and didn't show up for work the following day.

Police ask individuals with information about Young's death to call CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP, Secret Witness at 625-4000, or the Montgomery Police Department at 625-2831. A tip may lead to a $1,000 reward.

Young's death is the city's seventh homicide for 2017
