MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Montgomery Police Department says it has charged a suspect in the homicide of Kordarrius Young, whose body was discovered days after he was reported missing.

According to Capt. Regina Duckett, Ja'Quarius Brooks, 19 of Montgomery, has been charged with capital murder.

Duckett says an investigation shows Young was fatally shot during the course of a robbery. Young was reported missing on March 22. Days later, his body was found in the 800 block of Southlawn Drive.

During the investigation, Brooks was identified as the suspect.

He was taken into custody by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force Wednesday and transported to the Montgomery County Detention Center where he remains without bond.

Young's family says he was last seen leaving work on Atlanta Highway. His car was later found in Southlawn Estates and his body was discovered in an abandoned house in a dead end area of Southlawn Estates.
