Homicide investigation begins after Montgomery shooting turns fatal

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery police say they are investigating a homicide following a shooting on Wednesday that turned fatal.
According to Capt. Regina Duckett, the shooting happened in the 1700 block of Carter Hill Road around 5 a.m. At the scene, officers located a victim, identified as Leeandre Lockley, 27, who had been shot.
Lockley was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on Thursday, Duckett says.
Police ask individuals with knowledge of this shooting to call CrimeStoppers at 215-STOP, the secret witness line at 625-4000 or the police department at 625-2831.
No other details surrounding this shooting have been released.
