Alleged gunmen keep Alex City police busy

ALEXANDER CITY, AL (WSFA) - Alex City police and residents are glad to get a respite after a busy week last week involving random shots being fired.

Police say they've arrested and charged 21-year old Jaylean Raymond Robinson with reckless endangerment, a misdemeanor.

Police say Robinson began shooting at buildings and cars along J Street near Stephens Elementary School after getting into an argument with another man. The subject of the argument remains unknown.

Later that night, residents reported hearing more than 10 shots in the Spring Hill community. Alex City police say a man was shot in the leg. There's no arrest yet in that case.

Alex City Police Chief Jay Turner says they have since beefed up patrol in those areas.
