Pedestrian struck, killed in Barbour County crash
DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - Alabama State Troopers are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a Barbour County pedestrian Thursday on Alabama 51.
Angelia Joan Pendleton, 50, was struck by a pickup truck three miles north of Ariton at 6:40 p.m., according to State Trooper Kevin Cook. Pendleton was transported to Dale Medical Center where she later died from her injuries.
The driver, Raymundo Rivera-Bravo, 64, was not injured according to Cook.
Troopers say the preliminary investigation indicates that Pendleton was involved in a crash moments before and was standing outside her car when she was struck.
Nothing further is available as Troopers investigate the crash.
