MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Some actors from Alabama Shakespeare Festival put their own spin on "Carpool Karaoke," and it's pretty awesome.
In a video posted to YouTube, ASF actor Bret Shuford posed as a Lyft driver with characters from the musical "Mary Poppins."
"Carpool Karaoke" is a segment in "The Late Late Show" where James Corden picks up celebrities and sings popular songs with them on the way to their destination.
Shuford's version of the viral series shows him as Bert, who gives fellow "Mary Poppins" characters a ride to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival. While carpooling, Bert and his passengers sing popular songs together.
The group sings songs like The Drifter's "Up on the Roof," Rihanna's "Umbrella" and Aretha Franklin's "Respect."
The group made the video for fun and posted it to Shuford's YouTube channel. ASF Director of Marketing Katherine Perkowski said it would be great if the video helped draw attention to the show.
The musical runs at ASF through Sunday, Aug. 6. Tickets are available on the ASF website.
