Alex City man, woman arrested on drug and child endangerment charges

ALEXANDER CITY, AL (WSFA) - A Tallapoosa County man and woman were arrested Thursday on multiple charges, including chemical endangerment of a child, according to the Tallapoosa County Sheriff's Department.

It started when the Tallapoosa County Narcotics Task Force and the Alexander City Housing Authority investigated a complaint at an Alexander City apartment complex. According to police, they saw smoke coming from the apartment while a child was present.

Investigators searched the apartment, recovering 50 grams of marijuana, 40 grams of synthetic marijuana, or Spice, 11 ecstasy pills, a Glock .40 caliber handgun and $764 in cash.

Police then arrested 18-year-old Tatashawn Green and 30-year-old Naketria Glenn and charged them with possession of a controlled substance, first degree possession of marijuana, certain persons forbidden to possess a firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia and chemical endangerment of a child.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
