DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - A Dothan couple has been indicted on numerous charges of animal cruelty after animals were found in deplorable conditions inside their home.
According to court documents, Le Ngoc Pham and Hoan Cong Nguyen have been indicted on 65 counts of dog/cat cruelty and 16 counts of cruelty to animals.
The two were arrested in March after law enforcement officers received a tip that led investigators to their home.
According to Dothan investigators, officers found several dogs confined to spaces where they were lying in fecal matter. The animals also had inadequate water and food. Nine puppies were also discovered inside a freezer, causing investigators to believe the home was being used as a puppy mill.
Documents say Pham's trial date has been set for September 18, while Nyguyen's trial date has been set for November 13.
