MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A 22-year-old Montgomery man is facing charges in two separate crimes, including a July 15 shooting on Sheldon Lane and a robbery five days later at a home on Woodley Road.

The first incident happened around 3:15 p.m. in the 3100 block of Sheldon Lane when Martin is said to have fired an AR-15 into an occupied dwelling. A teen boy suffered a life-threatening gunshot wound after bullets hit him in the back and abdomen. Martin is also charged with first-degree assault in that case.

An investigation indicates the shooting stemmed from an argument.

A week later on July 20, investigators say Martin committed first-degree robbery, first-degree burglary, and third-degree theft after allegedly committing a residential robbery in the 3700 block of Woodley Road.

Investigators said Martin forced his way into the home and robbed the adult victims of approximately $200, a gaming system, and a cell phone. There were no injuries in that case.

Montgomery police later identified Martin as the suspect in both cases and he was taken into custody Tuesday by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force.

He's being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility on bonds totaling $190,000.
