3 arrested in connection to shooting into an occupied vehicle in Selma

SELMA, AL (WSFA) - Three were arrested Thursday in connection to a shooting case in Selma.

According to Selma Police Department Chief Spencer Collier, at around 3 p.m, the Selma Police Department Crime Suppression Unit and the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Fugitive Task Force served an arrest warrant on Prince J. James on a charge of shooting into an occupied vehicle. He was taken into custody at 2600 Angela Place in Selma.

Melonie J. Bessie and Jamiah Sharp were also arrested in connection to the original warrant. Bessie was charged with hindering prosecution in the first degree and Sharp was charged with hindering prosecution in the second degree and reckless endangerment. The reckless endangerment charge stemmed from an existing warrant.

All three were placed in the Dallas County Jail. James, who was already on state probation, is being held without bond. Bessie is being held on a $15,000 bond, and Sharp is being held on a $7,000 bond.
