Teen charged in connection with robbery, shooting at gas station
LOWNDES COUNTY, AL (WSFA) - Authorities have made a fifth arrest in connection with a robbery and shooting at a gas station in Lowndes County on June 12.
A 17-year-old was arrested Monday in Dallas County and charged with first degree robbery.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, the teen will be charged as an adult, but his name isn't being released.
Four others have already been arrested in this case. Kenchavious Ellis, 21, of Selma, Leo Carter, 25, of Selma, Katrina Latrese Owens, 40, of Montgomery, and Dorther Alexander Rogers are all charged with first degree robbery.
Family members have identified the shooting victim as 23-year-old Sameer Patel, who worked at the gas station.
According to the Lowndes County Sheriff's Office, Patel was on life support.
