DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - Local architects and engineers gathered in Dothan Friday to learn more about land development in the city. The forum focused on recent regulatory and policy changes that impact developers hoping to start new projects.
Project Manager Tonny Peters addressed sewage issues, one of the topics of the session.
"We have to certify that every time someone hooks up a new sewer connection we can transfer the overflow to the treatment plant and doesn't cause any overflows," said Peters.
The city says the construction being done around town is an effort to prevent those overflow situations that happen during big rain storms.
