Montgomery Police charge suspect with shooting into building

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A man is facing charges after Montgomery Police say he fired a gun into an occupied building.

According to Capt. Regina Duckett, Ronnie Lee Franklin Jr. is charged with one count of shooting into an occupied building or vehicle.

The charges are related to a shooting that happened in the 3500 block of Castle Ridge Road Sunday around 7:30 p.m. Duckett says an investigation determined that Franklin was involved in an exchange of gunfire that resulted in damage to a nearby building.

Duckett says the occupant of the building was not injured during the shooting.

Franklin sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was taken into custody following his release.  He remains in the Montgomery County Detention Facility under a $30,000 bond.
