AL inmate fatally injured in industrial accident

CLAY CO., AL (WSFA) - The Alabama Department of Corrections is investigating the death of a state work-release inmate, who was fatally injured on a job sit in Clay County.
According to Bob Horton with ADOC, Frank Dwyane Ellington, 33, was killed in what officials are reporting as an industrial accident at Koch Foods. What happened during the accident is unclear but officials say it happened at the poultry plant in Ashland around 5:35 p.m. Sunday.
Ellington had worked at the plant since June. He was serving a life sentence for third-degree robbery in Jefferson County.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
