MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The Alabama Department of Archives and History will be receiving a large gift Monday from Ambrosia Starling and Christiane Robinson, two active marriage equality advocates.

The gift is a collection of various materials that pertain to the marriage equality campaign in Alabama. The collection includes over 1700 photographs and 100 video files that show public demonstrations that both support and oppose marriage equality.

The media sources stem from Feb. 2015 to Feb. 2017.

Various clothing pieces are also a part of the gift to ADAH. One piece is that worn by Starling, a self-proclaimed 'Drag Queen.' The donated piece was worn at a 2016 rally for same-sex marriage at the Alabama Supreme Court.

The same-sex rally received national attention because of Chief Justice Roy Moore's decision to ignore the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that state bans on same-sex marriage were unconstitutional. Moore encouraged Probate Judges to continue enforcing the state-ban.
