MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Some football fans enjoyed their Thanksgiving meal beside the grill this year.

For some Alabama State fans, Thanksgiving and the Turkey Day Classic go hand in hand.

This year was the 94th annual Turkey Day Classic. Many fans started off their Thanksgiving morning at the parade and then headed to the stadium to do a little tailgating before Thursday's 2 p.m. game. Some fans said this is how they prefer to spend their family time during the holiday.

"I've been coming to this parade since I was a little girl so probably for almost 30 years. It's a Thanksgiving tradition for our family and now I'm able to bring my children and we have three generations of my family here every Thanksgiving," said parade lover Cameron Farr.

"We've been doing this for about 25 years so we're just keeping a tradition going. We give everybody the opportunity to come and enjoy the festivities. We do it every ball game. It's not just Thanksgiving, we do it every ball game," said tailgater Lorenza Smith.

Many fans said they want to spend their Thanksgiving the same way next year.
