ASU Marching Hornets raising funds to participate in Rose Parade

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Alabama State University's Mighty Marching Hornets have received an invitation to participate in the 2019 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.

According to the university, more than 60 million people will view the parade worldwide and as many as 700,000 will watch the performance in person. A performance in this parade will provide an opportunity to participate in a unique platform to entertain millions of viewers.

The Marching Hornets have already begun fundraising efforts to finance the trip, according to the university. If you would like to donate and help support the Marching Hornets as they work to finance the trip, click this link.

This would make the Hornets first appearance in the parade.

Most recently, the Marching Hornets starred in a documentary series titled, Bama State Style. In 2016, they also made an appearance in Ang Lee's film, Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk.
