MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A special ceremony for Middle Tennessee football players was held Friday morning.

Five Blue Raiders will miss their fall graduation ceremony due to the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl Saturday, so the university did the next best thing and brought the ceremony to them.

Four of the players received their bachelor's degrees while one received his master's. The president of the university came down to confer the degrees and will fly back for Saturday's commencement ceremony in Tennessee.

"It's a recognition of the incredible achievement of our student athletes who we highly value," said Middle Tennessee State University President Sidney A. McPhee.

McPhee says after tomorrow's graduation ceremony, he will fly back down to Montgomery to watch the Blue Raiders take on the Arkansas State Red Wolves.
