Reward offered for information in death of Ozark woman

OZARK, AL (WSFA) - The Ozark Police Department is offering a $1000 reward for information leading to the arrest in the death of a 49-year-old woman.

According to police, the body of Tammy M. Cooper was found just inside the wood line in the area of Fall Street on Friday. Initially, police began a death investigation but are now looking into the case as a homicide.

Investigators worked through the weekend collecting evidence, interviewing witnesses and identifying the victim as Cooper. Police say an autopsy is expected to be performed by the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences on Monday.

Police are asking if anyone has any information pertaining to this death investigation to call Ozark Police at 334-774-26-44 or Central Dispatch at 334-774-5111.

The Dale County Sheriff's Office is assisting in this investigation.
