PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) - Drivers traveling along Highway 14 in Prattville Tuesday morning saw an unusual sight: "Santa" picking up trash along the road.

Santa was actually Harold Hammond, who is a retired state trooper. WSFA 12 News reporter Bryan Henry profiled Hammond's good deed in a Making A Difference report eight years ago.

Hammond said he just wanted to dress-up for the season as Santa and have fun doing it while picking up roadside litter. Harold Hammond "adopted" his two-mile stretch 26 years ago as part of the country's anti-litter program.
