NEW ORLEANS, LA (WSFA) - Coaches and players have been speaking all week about Monday night's big game, but what about the fans? What were their thoughts as Alabama took on Clemson in the Allstate Sugar Bowl?

"Bama by three. We're on the same page. Bama by three."

Like father like son. Billy and Preston Smith made the drive to New Orleans from Athens, Alabama.

"New year. New standards are set and we just gotta play the game."

One fan braved the weather, but said it was well worth it.

"I think like 30's it's really cold I hate the cold but hey I gotta be here to support my team," said Alabama fan Randy Smith.

Also at the game supporting his team was Luke Conners, whose tickets were a Christmas gift.

"Christmas gift. It is yeah. It was a nice one. He put it in a little sugar bowl," Conners said.

Tanner Clowdus is in New Orleans for his birthday.

"My uncle brought me for my birthday. Yes, my birthday is a week from today," he said.

Jonathan Stewart was out grilling in below-freezing temperatures and while he says last year's national championship game was a heartbreaker, there's nothing stopping the Crimson Tide this year.

"It is what it is but now it's our year. It's our year to go to the championship and win this year," said Stewart.

Most Alabama fans say they hope to be purchasing national championship tickets come Tuesday.
