SELMA, AL (WSFA) - Two Selma men are being charged with drug trafficking in the state of Georgia after being found in possession of eight ounces of cocaine, the Troup County Sheriff's Office confirmed Thursday.

Earnest Murphy, 62, and Tommy Holyfield, 70, are both charged with one count each of trafficking cocaine. Murphy was also charged with a traffic violation for following too closely.

On Monday, Troup County deputies stopped a red Honda Accord for following too closely. During the traffic stop, it was discovered that both Murphy and Holyfield were in possession of narcotics.

Authorities say the cocaine was valued at approximately $22,000.

Both men were arrested and transported to the Troup County Jail.
