MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery Mayor Todd Strange and Montgomery County Commission Chairman Elton Dean have visited the Equal Justice Initiative's National Memorial for Peace and Justice.

The County posted a photo of them on its Facebook page Wednesday showing the two leaders touring the exhibit, which opens Thursday.

"I can't think of a more appropriate place that this could be," Dean is quoted saying. "It's time now for people to know the truth. We shouldn't be sad about it, we should be happy that this is here and people will be coming to Montgomery, Alabama to see the truth. This is outstanding and we welcome the opportunity to tell the truth here in Montgomery."

Mayor Strange is not quoted in the post.
