TUSKEGEE, AL (WSFA) - Saturday in Tuskegee, Central Alabama Veterans Health Care System honored those that have served our country but have passed. It was CAVHCS bi-annual Veterans Memorial Service where family, friends and community members gathered to honor and pay their respects.
"It's important for us to honor our late Veterans for their sacrifice and valor," said CAVHCS Director Dr. Linda Boyle. "We are grateful for these brave men and women who put their lives on the line to serve our country – our thoughts and prayers are with their loved ones during these heartfelt times."
A ceremony was held inside the CAVHCS chapel to honor those that have passed in the last six months before friends and family gathered outside around a rose garden to remember the women who served and passed.
The rose bushes were planted by the American Legion Auxilliary, Bell, Cook, Hopson Unit No. 337.
