MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - The NOAA Hurricane Hunters' Hurricane Preparedness Tour is making a pit-stop at the Montgomery Regional Airport.
On Thursday, the public will have the ability to get up close an inside look at what the Hurricane Hunters do. Area schools will be visiting through the morning, then the general public will have the opportunity to attend this free event between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.
On display will be the U.S. Air Force Reserve WC-130J Hurricane Hunter aircraft, which flys directly into the storm. NOAA's Gulfstream IV aircraft, which flies ahead of the storm, will also be on display.
WSFA's own Stormtracker12 will be at this event.
Officials ask that you park in the airport's long-term parking and walk over to the Montgomery aviation. Your parking will be validated.
Hurricane season starts on June 1.
