Man pleads guilty to 2012 murder, sentenced in front of victim's family

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A Montgomery man entered a guilty plea for felony murder in a 2012 shooting.

Maurice Conner, 33, was sentenced Thursday to 23 years in prison, District Attorney Daryl Bailey announced. He had been in custody in Georgia, but he was indicted for the 2012 murder of 30-year-old Reginald Shackleford in August of 2017.

Conner pleaded guilty to shooting Shackleford three times, killing him, on June 11, 2012 in his home at 1312 E. Audubon Road.

Conner was sentenced in front of Shackleford's friends and family.
