CRENSHAW COUNTY, AL (WSFA) - The Crenshaw County Sheriff's Office took a suspect believed to be the subject of multiple church break-ins into custody Thursday.
The sheriff's office posted Saturday that a Deputy Williams was conducting a security check around 1:40 Thursday morning at Cameron Chapel Methodist Church when he noticed the front door was open slightly.
Deputy Williams entered to do a search when he then heard an engine rev outside. A vehicle attempted to flee the scene, but Williams was able to follow the vehicle on Cameron Chapel Road.
The driver stopped at a residence on Cameron Chapel Road where he was arrested. The Crenshaw County Sheriff's Office said the suspect has been placed in the Crenshaw County Jail and faces several charges.
