ANDALUSIA, AL (WSFA) - Andalusia city leaders hired a former Auburn star and NFL player Monday.
Tommie Lee Agee is now the city's new director of Leisure Services. He will also serve as special assistant to the mayor. Agee starred at Auburn as the primary blocker for Bo Jackson from 1982 to 1986 and went on to an 8-year career in the NFL. Andalusia hired Agee away from the same position in Opelika.
"I felt like this was an opportunity for me to come down just to add a little leadership to the department that I felt was a little lacking in some areas, not saying that the leadership before wasn't any good. I'm just saying we wanted to, the mayor wanted to add a little more to it," said Agee.
Mayor Earl Johnson says Agee's salary will be $90,000.
