AUBURN, AL (WSFA) - The Auburn Police Department has arrested two suspects in a Monday afternoon jewelry store theft, but are still looking for a third.

According to police, officers got a call about the theft in progress at 3:30 p.m. The call was at a business in the 1600 block of Opelika Road, the same area as Auburn Mall.

Police say the suspects entered the business, broke two glass cases and stole jewelry. Officers were given descriptions of the suspects and the vehicle they left in.

Two suspects, both from Montgomery, have since been taken into custody.

Markel Jason McDaniel, 33, and Benjamin Tremayne Pendleton, 27, were arrested on felony charges of theft of property first degree. Pendleton was also charged with fleeing and attempting to elude police.

A third suspect is still at large though no information was available regarding a description.

McDaniel is being held on a $5,000 bond and is being held for a parole violation related to prior convictions for robbery first degree and burglary first degree in Montgomery. Pendleton remains in custody on a $5,100 bond.
