PRATTVILLE, AL (WSFA) - A Prattville woman is accused of taking money from a youth baseball league, according to court documents.

Lindsey Leigh Martin, 38, is charged with theft of property first degree. According to the arrest documents, Martin turned herself into police on Tuesday after a warrant was made for her arrest. The warrant indicates that Martin knowingly took more than $2500 from the Prattville Youth Baseball League in 2017.

Lisa Byrd with the Prattville mayor's office says Martin is a board member of Dixie Youth, Prattville's youth baseball league. Martin is also married to a Prattville police officer, Donnie Martin.

The Prattville Police Department is conducting the investigation; Byrd says Martin's marital status has had no effect on the investigation.

The arrest documents indicate Martin was released on a $10,000 bond.
