MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Our first Heat Advisory of the season has been issued for central Alabama from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday.
High temperatures in the middle 90s will give way to heat index readings of 105 plus for a few hours this afternoon. That's getting into the danger range, so we'll need to be smart if spending time outdoors. Find ways to stay cool and stay hydrated. Most importantly, listen to your body.
Isolated t-storms will be possible this afternoon, but will not provide relief to everyone. We'll remain very hot for the next few days with highs in the middle 90s continuing.
Heat index values in the danger range will continue through the workweek and into next weekend. There will be slight day-to-day variations in just how high the numbers get, but a general 100-107 range appears reasonable for the next week. Plan accordingly.
