Mother charged after child died in heat-related incident

COVINGTON COUNTY, AL (WSFA) - The mother of a child who died in a heat-related incident has been charged.

Chief Deputy David Anderson says 30-year-old Erica Dees is charged with criminally negligent homicide. The charge is a class A misdemeanor.

The case will be presented to a grand jury. Dees has been released on a $3,000 bond.
