'Annie' opens Wednesday at Alabama Shakespeare Festival

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - For the first time ever, the beloved family musical "Annie" takes the stage at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival! "Annie", a musical, is the story of an orphan girl who refuses to give up hope.

The cast is a traveling cast, and 12 local girls were chosen to play Annie's friends in the orphanage.

The cast of "Annie" will be on the grounds of Blount Cultural Park for the Stars in the Park event Tuesday night. It's a free outdoor concert commemorating Independence Day in conjunction with the City of Montgomery's fireworks display.

Stars in the Park starts at 7 p.m. "Annie" opens Wednesday.
