DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - Dothan is just weeks away from opening its first women's professional development co-working space. It's the first of its kind in the city.

"It's an opportunity for women leaders and entrepreneur CEOs to come together in a collaborative work space," said founder of Women's CEO Alliance Tiana Patrice.

Patrice is a Dothan native and founded the alliance, which is located in Windmill Station off Headland Avenue. Patrice said it was important to bring the resources to the city that helped her grow.

"When it was time to bring our first co-working, our first physical space, I couldn't imagine bringing it anywhere else other than the city that grew me into the woman I am today," Patrice said.

In this space, women will get the tools they need to grow personally and professionally. Members have access to not just the physical facility, but will have an opportunity to get things like social media training or sit in on discussions with legal experts.

"This is a one-stop shop. It's built by an entrepreneur for entrepreneurs and I think that's what makes it so different. I know exactly what entrepreneurs and women entrepreneurs need to grow their business and we'll make sure that happens," said Patrice.

There's also office space that women can rent.

Patrice said the tools taught in classes eliminate any glass ceiling and the difficult choices--life choices-- women often face.

"Our goal is to teach women you can have the 'and' and not the 'or.' You can have business and the family. You can have business and career," said Patrice. "If you ask women the reason they haven't launched their business or the reason they haven't moved up in their career, the underlying message and answer is going to be fear. At Women's CEO Alliance we give them the tools they need to live their best life."

If you're interested in membership, you can sign up for a "Pink Hard Hat Tour." That's an opportunity for your to tour the space and meet with Patrice. They are Monday-Wednesday at 10 a.m., 12:15 p.m., and 5:15 p.m. You can also visit the website to learn more about the tours and services available.

The facility opens in August. For women who are mothers, there are also opportunities for discounted child care services.
