MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A 25-year-old is facing felony charges for a robbery that took place in Montgomery Tuesday.

Cortez Bean, 25, is charged with robbery first degree and shooting into an occupied vehicle or dwelling.

According to Capt. Regina Duckett with the Montgomery Police Department, officers were called to the 2800 block of 7th street around 11:20 p.m. on a robbery call. When they arrived, the victim told police that Cortez came into his home, armed with a handgun, and demanded personal property.

After a physical altercation between the two, the victim says Cortez left the residence but not before firing multiple rounds into it.

Duckett says the victim was not injured.

An initial investigation indicates that the robbery stemmed over money.

Bean was taken into custody Thursday and transported to the Montgomery County Detention Facility under a $90,000 bond.
