MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - It's a new week, but the same old weather. We'll start the day partly cloudy before transitioning to scattered showers and thunderstorms into the afternoon.
By that point, temperatures will be around 90 degrees, slightly hotter than yesterday. Speaking of hotter, we're trending that way toward midweek as highs surge into the lower and middle 90s.
Overall, no major systems affect us this week. That means no major surprises with daily chances of showers and storms. While a few of those storms could be locally strong, widespread severe weather is not expected this week.
TRACKING THE TROPICS: Tropical Storm Chris and the remnants of Beryl headline a busy week in the Atlantic. Chris is destined to become a Hurricane, but will move northeast away from the east coast of the U.S. The remnants of Beryl may reorganize as it swings northward toward Chris' current location, but should again not present any issue of a direct impact to the U.S. The Gulf of Mexico is quiet.
