MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - By now you have seen the horrible story out of Elmore County where investigators say a man shot and killed his wife and shot three of his four daughters, killing one, then set the house on fire before killing himself.

Just last month there was a domestic-related shooting outside the Walmart in Tallassee where three people died. Incidents like these should never happen and they've raised the awareness of domestic violence in our area.

According to the National Coalition of Against Domestic Violence, nearly 20 people per minute are physically abused by a partner or family member in the United States.

One in three women and one in four men are victims of a physical violence within their lifetime.

Obviously, law enforcement is available 24 hours by calling 911.
