Woman charged after deposits stolen from Dothan event venue

DOTHAN, AL (WSFA) - A woman is facing charges in Dothan after police say she stole deposits from an event-planning venue.

According to Dothan Police, Gayla White is charged with one count of theft of property first degree.

The charges are related to an investigation that began in June, police say. Owners of the company Windmill Station reported that while working as an employee, White stole $2,700 worth of deposits from November 2017 to June 2018.

After investigating the report, officers took White into custody. She was transported to the Houston County Jail under a $30,000 bond.

According to the company's website, Windmill Station is an event building which offers space for weddings, receptions, reunions, office parties, banquets and more.
