HOUSTON CO., AL (WSFA) - Nearly two dozen weapons and illegal drugs are now off the streets in Houston County. Thursday, the sheriff's office announced the recovery following a search conducted on a house in Cowarts on July 11.
Sheriff Doug Valenza says investigators got information that prompted a search warrant at a home on Jordan Avenue.
In all 21 guns were taken from the home along with drugs like MDMA, Xanax, Hydrocodone, Marijuana, and Meth.
Ethan Wade Roper, 18, Jacob Samuel Grimes, 19, and Ethan Thomas Goolsby, 18, were arrested following the search. Sheriff Valenza says the residence is the home of one of the men but wouldn't confirm which one.
The men are charged with five counts of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of marijuana first-degree.
Although the sheriff's office has the guns and drugs, they're still processing what they have recovered.
"The guns haven't been run yet," Valenza said, to "see whether or not they've been stolen."
Grimes and Goolsby have $60,000 bonds. Roper is being held without bond because of a previous charge.
The sheriff says if you have any information about the drugs recovered, contact the sheriff's office at 334-677-4808.
