MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Montgomery Fire officials are investigating the cause of an early morning fire at a vacant house.

According to the Montgomery Fire/Rescue Facebook page, firefighters were called to Clayton Street and Carolina Street on a house fire around midnight. When they arrived, heavy smoke and flames were seen billowing out of the house.

The post says several fire crews worked to put out the large fire, using large hand lines and stationary master streams.  No one was inside at the time of the fire and no injuries have been reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
