MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - A Montgomery man has been arrested and charged with domestic violence and attempted murder after a shooting on June 24, according to the Montgomery Police Department.
Gerald Lee Wells Sr. was taken into custody by U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force a week ago. He was extradited back to Montgomery Thursday to face charges.
The arrest stems from a police and fire medic call that Sunday around 9:15 p.m. in the 1100 block of North Burbank Drive. On the scene, first responders found a man who was suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.
An initial investigation determined the shooting stemmed from an argument between family members.
Wells is being held at the Montgomery County Detention Facility on a $61,000 bond.
