Armed robbery suspect wanted after Waugh store hit

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, AL (WSFA) - Authorities with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office and Central Alabama CrimeStoppers are looking to identify an armed robbery suspect who spent a few minutes browsing the aisles of a convenience store before pulling a gun and approaching the counter.

The armed robbery happened shortly after 2 p.m. Thursday at the Circle K Store in Waugh.

Investigators say the unidentified man spent some time acting like he was looking over products, then made his move. He walked up to the counter with a black semi-auto pistol and demanded the cash in the register.

Authorities say the clerk complied without incident while the assistant manager hid and called 911.

Montgomery County Investigators released photos of an unknown male wanted in reference to an investigation consisting of an Armed Robbery of a convenience store.

The subject fled the store on foot eastbound on Highway 80.

Photos released Friday show the suspect was wearing a red hoodie with a striped pattern, blue workout pants with a silver or white stripe down the side, and tan/white shoes.

If you can identify or know the suspect's location, call police or CrimeStoppers immediately at 215-STOP.
