Auburn police arrest 7 from Montgomery area

AUBURN, AL (WSFA) - The Auburn Police Department arrested seven suspects from the Montgomery area Friday morning, charging them with theft of property, among other charges.

Ledarius Cox, 18, Cortez McKinney-Scott, 18, Shaquille Hill, 19, Si'Keris Miles, 18, Sirjames Raby, 21, Te'Jerrian Williams, 19, all from Montgomery, and a 17-year-old from Pike Road were arrested. All were charged with theft of property. Hill was also charged with possessing ecstasy, and the juvenile was charged with possessing a pistol without a permit.

Police responded to an apartment complex in the 100 block of East University Drive after receiving several calls alerting them to male suspects attempting to open multiple cars in the area.

When they arrived, police found the seven suspects in two cars. The juvenile, who was driving one of the cars, tried to escape police on foot, but was later caught, according to police.

Police found three stolen vehicles in the area, two Honda Civics and a Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle. Police recovered stolen money, credit cars, electronics and other items that had been stolen from pilfered cars in the same area and in the 2000 block of South College Street.

Cox, Scott, Miles, Raby, and Williams are being held on $15,000 bond, and Hill is being held on a $16,500 bond. The juvenile was transferred to the Lee County Youth Detention Facility. Police gave no details of bond for the juvenile.

Additional charges are pending, according to police.
