MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - One teen is dead and two other people were injured after a single-vehicle crash in Montgomery Sunday.

According to Sgt. Jarrett Williams, around 7:30 p.m. officers and medics were called to Boone Street and Potomac Avenue after a vehicle crash. When they arrived on the scene they found a 1996 Ford Explorer with multiple people injured.

Williams says two of the passengers were found to be suffering from non-life threatening injuries. A third passenger, 16-year-old Shacoyka Thomas, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries and later pronounced dead.

The driver of the vehicle was not injured, according to Williams.

Police say an initial investigation indicates the Ford Explorer was heading northbound on Boone Street, approaching Potomac, with three passengers standing on the rear bumper of the vehicle. The three passengers were thrown from the vehicle, causing all three to be injured.

At this time, there have been no arrests and no additional information is available for public release. Williams says the investigation is ongoing.
