MILLBROOK, AL (WSFA) - A Montgomery man is now in the custody of the Millbrook Police Department after a weekend incident in which a mother and her son were shot.

Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson said 40-year-old Louis Stinson Jr. was arrested Wednesday after two outstanding warrants for his arrest were put out.

Stinson was wanted for an incident that happened in the 4000 block of Grandview Road Saturday, where he allegedly shot his girlfriend and her 21-year-old son. He has been charged with first-degree assault-domestic violence, first-degree robbery, and second-degree assault.

Johnson said Stinson told police that he "always wanted to be famous but not for being wanted by law enforcement" and said Stinson felt "intense pressure" from having multiple law enforcement agencies searching for him as well as media exposure.

Johnson said the story broke Saturday when a retired Auburn police officer "observed what appeared to be the victim's stolen vehicle" which Johnson said was abandoned near the Alabama-Georgia state line. The retired officer contacted Millbrook police who then contacted Georgia law enforcement to verify the vehicle's location.

Stinson was placed in the Elmore County Jail under bonds totaling  $95,000.
