MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Police are investigating an overnight break-in at a West Montgomery gas station.

According to our crew at the scene, it appears someone shattered the front door of the Liberty Market on Edgemont Avenue.

Capt. Regina Duckett with the Montgomery Police Department says the incident happened in the 900 block of Edgemont around 2 a.m. The "complainant advised that some unknown subjects forcefully entered a business and stole assorted property".  Duckett says the property was recovered a short distance away.

Less than a block away on Doris Circle, officers were seen with what appeared to be a part of an ATM machine. Detectives were dusting the machine for fingerprints and searching for evidence.

Our cameraman also noticed skid marks leaving the gas station and a chain where it appears the suspects attempted to take the ATM machine.
