2 charged in Montgomery after officers find over 100 forged debit cards

MONTGOMERY, AL (WSFA) - Two Californians are facing multiple charges in Alabama after court documents say they were caught with over 100 forged debit cards.

Daniel Grigoryan, 24 of Panorama City, CA, and Tavit Hallajian, 19 or Arleta, CA, are each facing one count of trafficking in stolen identities and seven counts of possession of a forged instrument.

Documents indicate the two were taken into custody after an incident at the Regions Bank, located on Vaughn Road. The incident happened between 8 a.m. and 9 a.m.

According to Capt. Regina Duckett with the Montgomery Police Department, the two were taken into custody after attempting to use stolen debit cards at the business.

Officers located 101 forged debit cards in their possession at the time of the arrest. Some of the forged debit cards had already been used to get cash, documents also show.

Both Grigoryan and Hallajian were taken to the Montgomery County Detention Facility and placed under $100,000 bond each.

We have reached out to the Montgomery Police Department for more information about these arrests.
