MILLBROOK, AL (WSFA) - Two men are in custody and a third is wanted after an armed robbery in Millbrook.
According to Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson, the victim was approached by two suspects as he was getting into his vehicle. The victim said the suspects forced him back into his apartment at gunpoint, where they demanded his money, jewelry and keys to his vehicle.
Johnson said officers responded to the 900 block of Sweetwater Drive in regards to a robbery in process. As officers approached the victim's apartment, Johnson said two offenders kicked out a window and attempted to flee. One of the offenders allegedly pointed a gun at an officer, prompting the officer to fire at the suspect.
That suspect retreated back into the apartment, and then a short time later, Johnson said two suspects leaped out of the apartment, located on the second floor, and fled towards Rose Hill Road.
At the same time, Johnson said a third person attempted to leave the apartment complex but was unable. Johnson said that suspect exited his vehicle and fled on foot towards Rose Hill Road.
A short time later, Johnson said two of the three suspects were taken into custody. One was found at a near-by residence on Rose Hill Road and the second was found near the entrance to the apartment complex.
The two suspects apprehended were identified as 22-year-old Oshai Sharief McLean of Montgomery, and 22-year-old Delano Gilcrest of Montgomery.
The third suspect was described as being around 5-feet-10-inches tall and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and gray pants.
Johnson said the victim sustained minor injuries from being struck in the head during the robbery but all of his stolen property was recovered.
McLean and Gilcrest were charged with first-degree burglary and first-degree robbery each, and were placed in the Elmore County Jail under a total bond of $100,000 each.
