Montgomery woman dies after single-vehicle crash

RUSSELL CO., AL (WSFA) - The life of a Montgomery woman was claimed by a single-vehicle crash Thursday near Phenix City, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports.
According to ALEA, Kelley Via, 53, was driving her Nissan Frontier on Russell County 24 (Bradley Road) when it left the road and struck a tree. Via was taken to Piedmont Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia, where she was pronounced dead.
Via was not wearing a seat belt when she crashed, ALEA said.
ALEA continues to investigate the crash site, located roughly 15 miles east of Phenix City.
